Coaching Styles

Whens the appropriate time to use these coaching styles? Autocratic style of coaching would be used at the start of the session when you need to have control of what is going on. To do this you must be strict make all decisions and have total control.democratic style of coaching would be used when modifying a game, creating new rules and styles on how to play a particular game/sport. this style is used with younger athletes/participants. The laisse faire approach would be used at the end of a coaching session when its a more relaxed environment and with younger children being introduced to the sport and people playing the game for fun. it is a more relaxed environment and the coach isn’t worried to much.

Sports Coaching Philosophy
May 20th, 2008 by scarlton
My coaching philosophy is that winning and loosing isn’t necessarily the reason for being involved in physical activity. Sportsmanship is very important and it is essential to participate fairly. Being nice, playing to the rules and accepting winning or loosing. I also believe that trying your best and giving 100% towards training and participation is essential. Self belief, self esteem and self disclosure are essential ingredients in helping formulate a sense of self. I believe that social factors are improved the most by participation of regular physical activities. If an individual is apart of a team then there social health is improved greatly and most of all just get involved and have fun.
